Based on the organisational committee of LSC strategy on how to
approach the Eritrean youth and women in London and with the consultation with
the rest of the LSC members, the committee has called for a limited number of
youth for a meeting on 13 March 2011. The aim of the meeting was to explore with
the youth the ways and means which ensure their participation in the upcoming
national congress.
The meeting was opened by Hassan Ibrahim, chairman of the
organisational committee of LSC, welcoming the youth and introducing them
to Daniel Welde and Bereket Kahsai of the ENCDC. Daniel has briefed the youth
on the outcome of the national conference and the importance of their
participation in the process of the struggle against the dictator in our
country. Bereket also stressed on the urgency of youth participation in the
process of the democratic changes in the country.. He urged the youth to play
the leading role in fighting the regime in our country through getting
and sharing the lessons of the face book led youth revolution in our region.
As our target of the meeting was to listen, the youth were given
enough time to express their minds . The following were the most important of
their comments and suggestions:
-The ENCDC should have to work hard to reach the Eritrean youth
as very few of them are aware about national conference and the objectives
of the commission
-The ENCDC should benefit from the available media such as face
book, pal talk chat rooms and Eritrean sites
Tasks & Commitments
-The youth agreed to establish a network through face book and
other means in coordination with Bithynia, vice chairwoman of the organizational
committee of LSC.
-Call for a wider meeting of youth with the commission on April
2011 in London
- Rallying the Eritrean youth to participate in the biggest
demonstration on 25 Mar which will take place at the Eritrean Embassy in London.
